assuming i could splurge- i'd get it. without the greasy salesman.
and without the cowboy lookin dude.
brandy has a good point- its tuned, and under warranty. and its in limited numbers. not sure about 60 g's though.
if i'm dropping more than 30 g's i'd go buy a wrc version from prodrive.

I wouldn't buy it, but that's because I know I'm capable of building something better for way less.
However, sykosis has a good point. There is something to be said about that warranty & associated amenities provided by the dealership...AND the tuning! It's obviously worth more than an STi, but not that much.
Ironically, I wish they'd lower the price a bit. I don't care much for ESX, but I think that if this program is successful, it can only help SOA. It's obvious that the last 10-12 years of STi's that have not been available to us are due to the fact that FHI doesn't trust the American market. I'm thinking that there's a chance that if the ESX STi does well, it may further open up the US market for further innovative machines. Don't forget how revolutionary the introduction of the WRX was into the US at that time. FHI only made the decision to release it based on some form of market factors.

honestly i think it's a bit of a waste of money, not really worth the money for buy it now price. i just noticed the gauge. damn that is weak....why not at least a full set of defi amber or something?
however, it is limited edition, so if you do keep it in your garage for a couple decades you might make out like a bandit.
it's your money and your call. do what you want with it. come to think of it, you could probably pick up a "legalized" skyline for that much.

FQ400s are crazy cars! I was just watching the Top Gear episode where Jeremy ran one against a Murcielago and kept up. Then he tried accelerating in top gear against that little city car and didn't hit boost until the end of the runway. What rpms do those cars' boost kick in?
As far as this limited edition STi...it is not worth the money. Imagine spending that kind of money on an STi....a WRX...a Forester....a Legacy.....hell, even a Justy,SVX, Brat, or Baja.
To think that for that money, I could:
- Buy an STi AND a Forester WITH mods
- Buy a Lotus Elise and about 20,000 double cheeseburgers
- Put a downpayment on a house
- Put a downpayment on a CL65
- Spend the rest of my life making Femme Nu strippers happy.
...but spent it on a car that will get outrun by MANY vehicles that cost thousands less to build and/or tune. It's a nice car, but not worth anywhere NEAR that much money. If warranty is a concern, one shouldn't be into racing their car. I am curious how much it would be to insure this car.

even as a hard core esx fan, im telling you 60k is a NO GO. dude, the dealerships buy those for 50k, or in the area, that guy is out to rip you off.
on the other hand, if you do decide to get it, there will be no warranty isssues as its covered with 50 state legal exhaust, dyno tuned 425 @ the crank, 30% less @ wheels (that alot considering my car is 350 @ the crank on the same dyno, and my car does beat STi's with upgrades (exhaust intake etc.) you get navigation better brembos than the sti(painted red) i like the wheels, guess you guys dont.
ive driven this car, its fricken fast no doubt, but like the others say money can be invested in burgers, manapuas, or hell rockZa. its a great buy @ 52,000.00, no more
