Wise to get WRX now?
I currently attend KCC and would like to own a WRX in the near future. I plan to eventually transfer to UH in about 2 years. Would it be wise to put down payment 5k and make monthly payments now? Or should i just save up more and get it when i start going to UH?

When making a decision consider a few things:
1) Do you have a steady income? Is it enough to cover car payments PLUS maintenance?
2) Assume you get no raise or increase in income in the next 2 years; will you have enough to cover the additional expense of going to UH over KCC?
3) What do you drive now and how much is it costing you to own?
4) How much more insurance will it cost?
I would expect interest rates to rise over the next 2 years so financing it now you'll likely get a much better rate than 2 years from now. OTOH in 2 years you'll have saved more money for a downpayment so your loan amount would be lower. Another thing to consider is that there might be something nicer/better in a couple year. Heck you might be able to get a used '04 STi for $20,000 in two years

It is always a good time to buy a WRX but like Mister 2 said you have to make an assesment of what you have as far as income vs expenses for a new car.........i would advise taken mister2 advice. my suggestion is dont take a crazy financial plunge unless your ready for it. a brand new car could easily make or break you. good luck...
Mister2-you sound like some kind of financial adviser is this what you do for a living? if so i would like sit and talk to you one day when i get back

if you can afford it, i don't see why the heck not.
remember that you don't have to go with a super brand new 2 mile driven car.
there are members selling their awesome cars at great prices.

Education first :P.. Well, of course if you can afford buy it. I'm sure the longer you wait, the more saturated the WRX will be (as if it isn't already). So it is up to you, whether you like the WRX or STi, and what not.
Personally, I still like the GC8, and WRX over the STi ...

Education comes FIRST
Well just make sure you can make payment, not being in debt.
A "car is just car," but don't take it word to word.
Don't get me wrong, the Wrx is nice, I own a 04 STI, and only bought it this year after finished all my education and working hard.
Just make sure you are financially capable of affording it and overcome your expenses plus extra money as savings.

I have a seperate savings for when I attend UH, so the money that will be spent on car is from working (*** off). Might have to go with a new car because of financing and monthly payment plans, and i prefer it to be stock. =D
Mister 2 -
1. Hopefully it'll be more then enough to cover those.
2. Have savings for UH and that wont be a problem.
3. Bus =P
