Wierd encounter with moped rider

so it's 2am and I just got off my DJ shift in waikiki... and I'm headed home (which is by kahala mall). I usually do this a few times a week so I take the usual route. i exit waikiki by the zoo and go up towards diamond head/kcc. the roads were clear and i was tempted so i opened up because i had the chance. I hit 50mph at the most. but i was blowing off kind of loud

i see a red light up ahead so i brake for speed limit and the red light frantically pulls over to the side. I'm thinking ??? what's this guy doing? so i just drive past him and make my usual way home.. but as i passed him by i heard him shout..

as i press my garage door opener and pull in i see him pull up and go "there you are!"

"come out chicken! ill kick your little ***!"

so i'm thinking "oh god, here we go, it's going to be a fun night"

so i come out and i see this guy in his 40's or 50's stumbling and DRUNK

"what? is there a problem man?" i say

"your driving is the problem *******! you f*ckwad!!"

"what are you talking about? i didnt even come close to you" i say

"blah blah blah blah murmur blah blah stutter blah blah blah"

"are you drunk?? look buddy, i think YOURE the one who should be watching your driving" i say

"stop tailing people and stop being an *******!!"

and then he drives off on his little putt putt moped...

not trying to be ignorant here, i know that what i did was wrong also, shouldnt have been opening up and all...

the most disturbing part about it is that he knows my house now, crackheads these days..

not trying to sound like a preacha man.... but all it takes is for one incident- which in most cases we are unaware of - and beyond our control. and then our life and possibly others are changed forever. even if "it is 2 am. and the roads are clear. and we always take the same route." . whenever i decide to "risk it" (even though the risk seems minimal) i accept the fact that i could possibly screw up someones life- and even my own.

going 50 mph in a residential does not exactly give you enough time to stop- if some young kids decide to go clubbing, or some drunk moke on a moped pulls out of a driveway.

<preacha mode off>

yeah. i'm a preachers kid.
actually after getting into 3 accidents - i get kinda sensitive about this kinda stuff.
back in 98 i got into an accident- ran over a kid- who i swear was no where in sight- came out of no where.
so yeah. i preach about this- even though i have been stupid quite often since i got my drivers license back in '91

i know what ya mean greg.. i guess a residential area wasnt the smartest place to be testing out... i feel bad about it.. gotta think twice before doing stuff like that...

if i ever do see him again around my house suspiciously, i'm calling the police for a RO or something like that..

Ha ha Peter you couldn't lose a moped. I wouldn't be too worried the guy probably drove two blocks, passed out and woke up the next morning wondering how he got there.
