why 2006 Subaru sound like cr*p?

Finally there is subaru dealership in Tahiti! So I was thinking to get an 2006 WRX as an extra car for the familly instead of an R32 or GTI... but when I went to test drive the WRX and STi... I felt something was missing.

Why the hell 2006 models sounds like "not a subaru"? Where is the boxer sweet sound?

To get the sweet sound require an aftermarket exhaust? If I can remember, previous version sound nice with stock one.

alotta ppls had up pipes and down pipes with stock exhaust. also the wrx is now a 2.5L and is very quite compares to the sti which has a more highflow exhaust. and correct me if i'm wrong the 06 wrx comes with equal length headders. which does throw the sound some.

i'm curious since your from Tahiti when you mean previous versions are you refering to the jdm wrx or the usdm? because that may make the difference considering that the jdm ones come with a less restrictive exhaust for example no cat in the up pipe and possibly a free flowing exhaust.

theres youre answer right there, no changed CBE or anything, its the headers if they really do come with equal lengths. Just get one and put on some gruppe-s headers (I believe they are un-equal).

Subies with aftermarket equal length headers have commonly been referred to as "hondas with *****"
