"Max Payne burst onto the scene a couple years back with a great storytelling experience and some fast action fun. Aside from the bullet-time, it didn't do anything extraordinarily new, but it still managed to give players more than a little bit of entertainment. It was only an amount of time before the sequel was due, and now we finally have official word from Gathering of Developers that the Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is due out later this year on the PC with the announcements and release schedule for the consoles to be made at a later date.
This is certainly quicker than we imagined having just heard speculation about a 2005 release date in April. Looks like that information was a little off.
There are no details about the plot lines at this point, except for our own speculation that it has something to do with Max slipping in the bathroom and hitting his head on the sink. Really... how much lower can you fall from rock bottom? Arrested, addicted to pain killers, and murdering hundreds of innocent gangsters that only wanted to share the joy of their highly addictive and dangerous drug... that's just rough. Anyway, look for more details to come in the near future."
