Howzit going fellas. Well as of January 1st 2007. I will be out of the Military for good. I am thinking of comming back to either Kuwait or Iraq but as a Civilian (Army Contractor) with either L3 Comm. or ITT.

- Must Have a Resume ready to turn in

other requierements...

Im looking for someone else to head down range with, since It would be a lot better than just myself. I would like to come over here for just 6 months in Iraq that would be a total of well over $90,000 earned in a combat zone.

- $8,000 for signing the contract
- 6 weeks total of leave (4 for vacation) 2 weeks of sick leave
- 1million dollar life insurance
- $4,500 travel pay for leave

I have a friend of mine Keoka he is here now and making some good 6 figures.

Just a rough idea:

Kuwait: $8,000-$12000 a month

Iraq: $12,000 - $15,000 starting as a GS 15 pay.


Im still thinking about it, but I think Im about 80% sure I will be returning for just 6 months....

Here is a short outlook of the carrers of these 3 top paying countries as an Army Contractor:

IRAQ

Iraq is one of the locations in which our TAC-SWA (Total Army Communications-Southwest Asia) project and others operate. We have a variety of Communications positions at multiple locations. Personnel deployed to Iraq usually but not always live and work on a military installation. Some locations as few as four ITT technicians are located at a remote site. Accommodation and meals are provided at no cost to the employee, sometimes the meals are MREs. Depending on locations, the dining halls will be US Military, Korean, British, or other coalition forces operating the facilities. Employees receive various monetary allowances in addition to base pay to work at this location. In most cases, travel to and from the work site is by military air/convoy transport. Accommodation can be tents, trailers or hardened buildings. Air-conditioning and electricity are provided. Some employees have purchased satellite internet service for their accommodations. Depending on the site, meals will be provided at the mess halls or you may purchase meals at Burger King, Pizza Hut or a variety of other local establishments. Force protection is routinely provided by either US military or Coalition forces. ITT TAC-SWA personnel are Non-Combatants meaning no ITT TAC-SWA personnel are authorized to carry weapons in Iraq. There are currently no ATM machines in Iraq, personal checks can be cashed at most sites, some sites only once a month.


Kuwait


Kuwait is a modern, progressive Gulf state. We have two projects that currently operate from Kuwait. They are GMASS (Army maintenance project) and TAC-SWA (Total Army Communications-Southwest Asia). Career opportunities in Communications, Logistics and Vehicle Maintenance.

Remote Sites. These employees live and work on a military installation. In most cases, travel to and from the work site is done by road. Accommodation can be tents, trailers or hardened buildings. Air-conditioning and electricity are provided. Some employees have purchased satellite internet service for their accommodations. Depending on the site, meals will be provided at the mess halls or you may purchase meals at Burger King, Pizza Hut or a variety of other local establishments.

All Other Sites. Personnel deployed to other than remote sites will work on a military installation and travel to and from work on roads in private vehicles. Housing is provided in secure western apartment buildings. They will be in close proximity to amenities such as commercial laundries, restaurants (McDonald’s, Burger King, Hardees, Chili’s, Applebees and Johny Carino’s), high-speed internet access and leisure facilities. Employees receive various monetary allowances in addition to base pay for working at this location.



QATAR


Qatar is a modern, progressive Gulf state. We have several projects located in Qatar such as TAC-SWA (Total Army Communications-Southwest Asia), APS-5 (Army maintenance project) and Qatar BOS (Base operations and support contract based at Camp Al-Sayliyah), just to name a few. We have a variety of positions such as Communication Technicians, IT Administrators, Supply Specialists, Vehicle Mechanics and Security Guard positions just to name a few. Personnel deployed to Qatar will work on a military installation. Employees receive various monetary allowances in addition to base pay to work at this location. Travel to and from work is completed via provided vehicles. Personnel live in villas on secure western compounds. They are in close proximity to the work site and all usual amenities. Examples of amenities are dry cleaners, restaurants (McDonalds, Burger King, Hardees, KFC, Chilis, Applebees, Johnny Rockets, etc.), high-speed internet access, supermarkets, shopping centers, movie theatres, and hotels.

How do I submit a resume?

Each job posting you view after searching our job listings will have a button at the bottom that will allow you to apply using our online response form. Once you are brought to the response form, be sure to choose a source, letting us know how you heard about us and fill in the other required information. Once you hit the submit button, your resume will become part of our searchable database. Submitting your resume more than once will NOT increase your chances of being contacted. We will contact you if your skills and qualifications match a position we are trying to fill.



What if I do not have a resume? Can I fill out an employment application?

You can fill out an online application form by using the link to our online application on the search page. Your application will be entered into our searchable database just as a resume would. We will contact you if your skills and qualifications match a position we are trying to fill.




What is a source and why am I required to select one?

The source lets us know where you saw the position advertised or where you heard about us. There are two source drop-down menus that you are required to choose from when you submit a resume via our online response form. Please use the first drop-down to chose from a list of high-level categories like advertisements, job boards, job fairs, etc. Next, use the second drop-down menu to indicate the specific source, i.e. the name of the advertisement, job board or job fair.




Why can't I submit my resume via U.S. Mail or FAX?

We receive thousands of resumes and paper resumes take much longer to process. Resumes received via our online response form reach the database almost instantaneously. You could miss the window of opportunity for a position because of the processing delay.



How do I use the Refer a Friend link?

The Refer a Friend link allows you to send an email to a friend who may be interested in the job opportunity you are currently viewing.



Why am I prompted to fill out additional information when I apply for some employment opportunities but not for others?

If we have additional requirements for a specific position or need additional information from you, we will include these screening questions at the end of the submit resume page. These questions help us to determine if you are a good match for the position you are applying for. Even if we determine that you are not a good match for the particular position you are applying for, you will still enter our searchable database of resumes and may be considered for another position we are recruiting for.



I'd like to be able to include a cover letter with my resume, addressed to the appropriate individual. How can I find out the name of the appropriate individual?

All resumes received are attached directly to the open job requisition for the hiring manager to view. Your resume will also remain in a central database and sorted by job applied for and skill set for future openings. It is not necessary to address a cover letter to a specific individual. If you would like to include a cover letter, you can paste it in the resume text field after the text of your resume.




What if a position I am interested in is not listed on the careers page? Can I submit a resume anyway?

You will be in our searchable database and may be considered for other positions other than the one you applied for. It is important to note that you should NOT submit your resume multiple times as this will NOT increase your chances of being contacted. The only time you should send us another copy of your resume is if the resume includes updated information.



How do I know if you received my resume via the online response form?

Once you have submitted your resume, a popup window will appear thanking you for your submission. An email confirmation will also be sent directly to your email address. The appearance of these messages is your confirmation that we have received your resume. If a problem occurs during the transmission of your resume, a pop-up window will appear with the error/reason for the problem. You will be asked to re-submit your resume at that time.

ITT and L3 are federal jobs. The pay will decrease atleast 70% in the mainland. The reason why is because of combat areas. You get 35% of you base pay for Combat Zone and 35% Danger pay, etc. It's a lot easier to start here than in the mainland, not everyone wants to come to these combat zone but others do. In the mainland they go by req. scholerships, degrees, etc... Here you apply you on the bird, ready to get paid and start working... Its a lot more competitve in the mainland, thats the bottom line...

alot of people dont last long in jobs in combat zones. my dad is out here and he was telling me that alot of the younger guys (under 23) cannot handle being away from home let alone the hazardous conditions. a good candidate would be a military vet that has seen combat and knows how to deal with the high stress atmosphere. good luck to anyone that applys

KBR is a great company, but for the last 2 years, they have been cutting down lots of benefits. Thats why everyone is / has been changing over to L3 and ITT just bought L3. They are great companies, but the best bang for the buck and benefits is L3 / ITT.

Hey Shaggy;

I think it's worth the risk. Nope no weapons here as a civilian buddy, you must be in the military to carry any type of weapon. The US Military is all we got looking out for the Army contractors.
