You can get redline oils from RedLine parts.

Yeah,

I can help. In my humble opinion, the Redline shockproof transmission and rear differential for my 2002 WRX made no difference. I was expecting a difference, but noticed nothing. Check the transmission forum on NASIOC, there's a thread there where the hot ticket seems to be some pricey dino gear oil (or Uncle Scotty's speciaql formula). I use Redline engine oil religiously, so it's not like I'm dissing Redline, but the tranny/diff synthetic oil didn't impress me. It isn't cheap either.

Im pretty sure it is becuase Im getting ready to change my diff/tranny oil pretty soon and I talked to Ryan at Vakamon about it. He reccommended Royal Purple or redline 75-90 for the diff and Royal Purple MT fluid for the tranny. Hope that helps.

YES, you can safely use that oil in your front and rear differentials. Since you have a manual transmission you should only have 1 fill plug. Your front differential and transmission share the same fluid. Make sure that you add the proper amount of fluid. DO NOT over fill (and obviously do not under fill) your transmission / front differential.

your rear differential will have 2 drain plugs which can be removed by using a 1/2" drive ratchet or a 1/2" drive breaker bar.

You will need to remove the lower drain plug first to remove the fluid. After it has drained, you will need to put that drain plug back in securely (do NOT over torque). Then remove the top plug to fill it. on the WRX/STI you need to fill it until fluid start to drip out of the top hole (make sure you read the capacity amounts though) then seal it back up.

You should have done a search on this. other people including myself has posted things about differential fluid changes...etc. before

you should also look at the impreza transmision section.

Jon

Unhappy Project RA postponed

Like I said, I dropped out for a while only because I sold my other GC and been busy working. Now I'm back starting all over again. Yeah so I can't do the RA for now, me and my son got really sick and we went to the ER. Some virus going around (wash your hands all the time guys). So we got medical bills to cover and the RA needs to sit aside, if not, I'm gonna have to turbo my 1.8L. Gathering some resources right now and trying to boost on a budget as well. For now, I'm just doing exterior, you saw my car, it needs a paint job!!! It looks like a Tercel...runs like one too...HAH!
