Been looking online (google, nasioc, ebay) and can't really find any deals. Please LMK. thanks.

That stuff applies if you have correct size tires on them. One of the bigger ones is the steering component failures, especially on current models. This seems to be a relatively common failure. Other things apply if you stretch tires on it. This is also not taking into consideration the effects of lower offsets, which can exacerbate some the issues listed.

you will have zero issues with that wheel setup. I ran 9.5 38 ET on 265 for 3 years zero issues along with a million other subarus. Actually the best wheel for are body style is a 18x9.5 et 35-40. Put a 255 or even the stock 245 which is hardly a stretch at all and have zero worries. Its when you start putting offsets like 15 you will begin having issues and thats after a while.

Ok keep believing what YOU think is ok and myself along with the thousands of other people and all the reputable shops that I deal with go doing it all wrong. Things that you mentioned apply to really low offsets. 35 and up is not low. So keep believing what you want. But don't give false information about something you don't know anything about. Do you even drive an 2008+? Doesn't look like it at least.

And for the record, the things I mentioned were not focused on low offset. My links applied to correct fitting (high offset) wide wheels with wide fitment tires. If you go lower offset as you suggest you are opening the door to issues I haven't mentioned yet on top of some of what I have listed.
I offered him an intermediate setup that will have good looking fitment but at the same time doesn't take too much away from the functionality of the car. I recommended something along the lines of 17x9 +45 RPF-1s.
you sir lack any logic. Maybe you and the thousands of other people and all the reputable shops that you deal with (cuz you're such a big shot) shouldn't give out advice to anyone. you missed the entire point that was being made. no really there was a good point there, go back and read it again i'll wait....
