Wheel sizes?

What size wheels are you guys running? And I know, "Get the rex first", but I got time on my hands and spend all day looking at rex parts online. But Im thinking about 18" wheels since i like the look, but not sure how that is going to screw up 1/4 runs. Just curious what everyone is running for daily driving.

Yeah quoting the Superleggs now and going to order. Wanted them for awhile. Is it 17x7 or 17x7.5? Going to go with Gunmetal I think, I like the look over gold.

The ones I could find (at Tirerack.com) were 17x7. Could not find 17x7.5's. Gunmetal are the ones I want. All the Blue WRX's have gold. If you find your car with stock wheels and Falken Azenis tires one day, don't be surprised. And don't look at my car.

17x7.5...

My friend Jimmy had 19's on his IS300. They lasted < 1 year before the Hawaii roads took their toll on them. They're in for repair and re-chroming right now. (He's paying more to have his Racing Harts REPAIRED then my Rotas + Azenis cost to buy!)

Hmm, dont see Superleggeras in Gunmetal just the gray painted. Damn. Oh well, still nice wheels... Also looking at the Superleggera III Forged, but only in 18" and above.

You run 245/45-17 tires right?

I am going to weld the bolts so you cant steal em. =)

Yeah looks like 17x7, like you said the first time. I guess 17"s are what I will go with since I need some rubber to help cusion the ride. I just really like the 18" look, but not worth destroying the wheels here. The roads are bad.

Anyone have tire preferences? No clue about those...

Low profile tires are very risky living in Hawaii. If you hit a pothole, there will be a chance it will bubble up on the wall.

what about the 45 series tires? Sorta gotta go with them with 17s to keep speedo correct. Thats as low as I would go tho and just pray as I hit holes. There was one on the H1 going east up a grade I remember from last time I was here. Not sure if its still there. I think near Aiea. I hit it last year when I was renting a Mustang and thought I broke something. That would kill a wheel/tire.

For 17" wheels you can get some nice meaty 225/45/17 tires.

For 18" you would have some 40 series tires. Not a good thing in Hawaii.

As for tire choice, I would love some Bridgestone S0-3's. Alas, I can't afford those. It's about $800 for tires alone
