what am I doing wrong (calculation)
I'm having to start all over in GT3 and am trying to buy my first REAL car (30-50k range).
I converted weight from KG to lbs for my own reference, then using KG's, I divide weight by HP then divide weight by tq. 1st, my numbers are off of what they're claiming; 2nd, I'm finding that when HP goes up on, say, a heavier car, the power to weight goes up, but when tq goes up on that same car, tq to weight goes down.
This is what I'm seeing: (weight is in lbs. but calculation is in KG)
This is the format: weight in pounds:hp/tq - hp to kg/tq to kg. Then GT3's claim in parenthesis.
I know the *** car companies bogus their claims, but I'm just trying to get to an understanding as to why certain lesser powerful cars seem to have a greater power to weight, and my torque to weight vs. the claims are so much greater.
I suck at math, among other things.

Also, my GT3 is hanging. (Richard, feel free to hack away.) Inconsistently, after I run a race, the black transitional screen with that one little white block in the top left comes up and hangs there.
Anyone had that happen? Any fix?

hmmm... i dunno what to tell you about the calculations... i can tune your car like a madman tho
as for the hanging screen, could be your disc drive is screwed up... maybe the lens is dirty. Try using a lens cleaner and if that doesnt work, uhhhh... theres only a couple other things it could be.
1 - system is old and faulty
2 - you left the system standing vertically and screwed up the drive
3 - inside is too dusty
4 - your disc is scratched and u gotta clean it

Thanks a bunch. I'll begin the troubleshooting flowchart. I'd guess it's the disk because GT3 is the only game that does it.
BTW, who has reached a certain level in Toca and can't progress past it....and since put it aside?

i dunno about TOCA, but i beat GT3 about 6 or 7 times over, and im workin on NFSU 2... 36 more races and i can unlock all the widebody kits... oh yea, if theres a car you need from GT3, let me know. I have 2 full garages (400 cars) of nearly every single car in every single color that you can win.... sans all 80 of the F1 cars (i do have like 20 of them tho)

lol... good luck. Took the better part of a year and a half to get many of those cars. Even getting all Gold licenses wasnt a cake walk. Ive thouroughly beaten GT3 into submission over the past couple years.
Did you want any of my tuning setups? I have setups for just about every car on every track for circuit racing or drifting... including many FWD and 4WD cars. FWD is fun to drift...

Godo,
How do you know when you can unlock the widebody kits. I just was able to get the STI in that game. Takes forever to unlock that car. I have a Civic that is a 10 Star and my STi is around 7 but I haven't put in a stereo yet.

you can unlock ONE widebody after you complete 11 outruns on Stage 5. Once you beat the game @ 100%, i "think" you can unlock the widebodies for all the cars in the customize mode. Dont take my word for it tho.
The 11 outruns are easy if you getem onto the freeway and pull a u-turn and NOS back the other way. You can lose them in 10 seconds or less. I think my fastest outrun was 8.6 seconds or something.

oh yea, if you "Jump to Garage" and then access the World mpa, you can finish all ur other races that werent completed. Make sure once you start the race, you immediately "Restart" it so you can earn your Rep and Cash.

I didn't realize that getting gold licenses versus the all-bronze that I have would get you anything.

you get some baaaaaad **** cars for doing all Gold. I think the old school 1980's Mazda 787B was one of them. Plus you get an F1 car and i think the Opel Calibra Touring Car... the 4WD monster that redlines at 16,000 rpms
