Went out and got Momma a new ride...

1994 Ford probe GT 86k miles, 5spd, new tires, timing belt, water pump. And almost everything that has ever been done has been done by Ford. He gave me a extra (used) raditor, tailights, Ford radio, Ford EQ, and a new Exedy clutch still in the box..$2500 I thought was a good deal he is the orginal owner and was about mid 60s and acted like he really didn't want to get rid of it he left $20 in change in the car I asked him if he wanted it and he said no..

Nice! I had a g/f that had that color. I always thought it looked good.

$20 in change, that's cool. That gets you almost a full tank of gas.

I have friend who has the same model year but in white and it has be put through hell. I am surprised that his car is still running.

Sweet.

I just read that the probe was originally a Mustang concept. The outcry that Ford received for potentially making the stang a fwd was too overwhelming, so hence the probe.

Nice project car.

All it is is a MX-6 (Mazda). You have to see it and see how good of condition it is in. Wife really likes it..

I like the looks of the MX6. It's enticing for a future drag car project, but I don't know a thing about rotary power. I've heard that you don't dare take it to det for tuning purposes. That would seem like it would tend to make tuning very difficult.

I don't know what that has to do with the Probe, though.

The MX6 is a inline four or a V-6 i don'tt hink they were ever Rotary powered but I could be wrong. My friend back in Washington Auto-x with a guy who drove a probe and he said all he had was lowering springs, sway bars, and some sticky tires and he said he was really competative..For what it was.

I looked into 2nd Gen Probe GTs (like this) a few months ago for my 2nd car. It won Motor Trend Car of the Year in it's first year ('93 I think). The end-of-year test revealed several mechanical issues with the V6. This was after only one year. Also, owners had similar complaints after just one year. I think the GT is a 2.4 or 2.8 (can't recall) liter V6 built by Mazda with around 160hp. It's definitely a good looking car IMO. 160hp in a car that size was quite competitive at that time. The reliability issues were just too much for me though.

It's a 2.5L 164hp and the way this guy was with the car if there were any issues they were address a long..long time ago. Shoot he just spent $1200 on getting the water pump, timing belt replaced and the thermostat and I believe something else. I have recipts for any and all work ever done including oil changes. When the car was just over a year old he had Ford change the transmission because he thought it was to hard to shift into 1,2, and reverse....

Cool, I guess it seems like a pretty good deal. Maybe if I could have found one that was babied by a private owner I would have considered it. The only ones I could find to look at were beaten down.

The pictures don't do much justice I feel like I got a good deal he even called this am to ask how the car was working out and that he has some more extra parts (radio) and that he found a recipet that wasn't with the rest..
