2) the rest of my years driving mixed between SoCal and cental Oregon

...and today I've got nail number 9 & 10 in my right rear tire of the STi today.

2 in one day!!!

Yes...that's right number 9 & 10....that's ten nails I somehow stuck in my tires over my 3 and 1/2 years of driving on this island....none in Germany and 1 the whole rest of my "Driving" life.

That sucks. I've had a nail or two in my tires here also. I'm just an unlucky bastard I guess because I on in my RS's tires too when I was home.

yeah, in tristate i used to get stuck with nails all the time. out here - just one. oddly enough, they mainly occurred when i was running Dunlop SP9000's.

nails suck at slow speeds - sounds like your car's tap dancing

I've heard of purposely placed nails being found resting against tires (of cars that were parked, of course). If possible, check it out before driving away.

I'd just plug all 3 of those holes and sell the car with the 070's on it.

Does he still have the stock tires? I've only gotten one nail in one tire in my years of driving and it was at a job site when I was doing framing work..

I feel your pain. I've had two nails in the last two years. The first didn't go through, but the second did. I had it professionall patch/plugged for around $15 so I'd recommend as Pat did. Unless one goes through the sidewall they can be patched and some places will guarantee it for the rest of the tires life.

I need new tires anyway, the S-O3s are almost done...it's just the fact that I get so many nails in such a short time.

I got my BFGoodrich g-Force Sports today, I love tirerack...great prices, good service and super fast shipping. (Only took 49hrs to get to my door!)

...and for these tires being a "lower end model" they have a treadwear rating of 340, Traction AA and temperture A

That's the same ratings as the KDWs I had.
