Talking warning light settings?

I was just wondering for those out there running the defi bf oil temperature and oil pressure gauges. At what temperature and pressure do you guys set your warning light to come on with the buzzing sound from the control unit? Right now I hopping from scoobymods.com to here trying to find settings for my gauges....Feed back will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks,
Walter.

Don't have mine installed yet, but I think the oil pressure warning should be set to zero right?

I would set it at 10psi. Most oil squirters have springs set to open at a min of 30psi. Most engines can live with 15-20 psi of oil pressure at idle.
Anything below 10psi I would worry. Oil viscosity and temp will affect oil pressure. By pass relief valve at the oil pump will open at 60psi but I've seen oil pressure shoot to 75-80psi at cold startup.
Normal oil temps should come close or be the same as normal water operating temps.

I'm not a mechanic, I think I read this some where.

You are right. At cold start up. Its at 80 psi and lowers as the cars engine warms up. But when driving around, Im normally at 15-20psi but I know for a fact that driving speed limit, Im at almost60psi for oil pressure and 210-221psi for my oil temperature. Is this normal runnings for subaru's?

Yup. Oil temps should reflect water temps.
The Subaru designers wanted the oil temps at 210F-221F to help boil off the unburned fuel that happen to get washed past the piston rings after cold start up. That is why if you drive short distances thay recommend you change oil every 3500 miles because the oil never reaches operating temperature to boil off the fuel that washes past the rings on a cold start up.
Oil pressure Don't worry unless its below 10psi when warm.

I got most of the information off a book Turbo design building and testing.
The book is from down under. A green hard back with a GC8 Subaru pic in the front picked it up at borders or barns and noble.
Also checkout autospeed.com great stuff on there site, its an online magazine but they have quit a few hacks in there that I've been using for years on my Mitsu Starion.

sdsefi.com scroll to the very bottom and check out their FAQs and projects on engine modifications. Great source of ideas.
