Wanted To Drive: something with 8 cylinders
I was just thinking back, and I realize that I have NEVER driven a car with more than 6 cylinders. I drove a truck at my job-site that was had 8, but it was geared real low and made for towing.
The whole thing that brought this on is that I was perusing the Insayne Stangs, and I was in their 'For Sale' section... some decent sounding cars for relatively cheap. I would like a chance to drive a fat-*** RWD muscle car and see what all the fuss is about. Can anyone hook a brother up? Nyahhh. I'm going to the dealership!

You want to make a pass in Jimmy's 5.0? If so, I think we can take him. I'll go low, you go lower - and we're set! *JUST KIDDING JIMMY!*

Well, I went to Cutter Ford and did some sweet talking and got to take a black GT 5-speed out. Nice. Of course it took longer than I had hoped (dealerships always do) and the guy made a convincing case for me to buy ($3250 in rebates and the probability of less than MSRP) but that was contingent on me getting my WRX over there for a trade I told him I'd think about it.
The combination of a powerful car, and a salesman who is too nervous to say "no" is a very good thing. The thing sounded sweet at the top of 3rd gear!
All in all, if I was truly interested in a car that goes fast in a straight line and has a really nice exhaust note, I'd go for it. The thing is, I'm not. Maybe some day when I can afford a drag-strip only car. Until then....
Oh yeah, It's HARD to find a 5-spd Camaro on the dealership lots. I tried 4 and there wasn't one to be had. I did, however, sit in an RX-8... nice. Makes the interior of my Subbie seem like a crack-***** decorated it. The Mustangs' interior was *** except for the leather.

Stock 5-speed Mustangs are DOG slow. The exhausts sound SWEET though. I want seat time in a modded '03 Cobra...
