Vf39 hairline cracks a real concern?

Just reading some threads in case the td04 goes bad,..
But is the vf39 housing cracks as bad as the td04 wheel going bad and not worth picking up as a replacement?

Wndering what would be a good cheap replacement as ive read the vf34 would be more reliable,...

Your opinions?

I never had any problems with my vf39 that had the crack. You can always get it welded but I wouldn't recommend it

From what I hear, those cracks are common.

As for going with the 34, it really depends on what your goals are, in addition to your budget. If you have the budget, there are better turbos out there, as a replacement.

For sure,..,had the pdx 330 turbo on a lgt which was awesome,..
I think for the fozzy, ill keep it simple and look for a vf39,

Anyone selling a low mileage vf39?
Pdx and ams doing tunes soon and hopefully someone did or will do a recent swap,....

there are gains on a cracked turbo? how does that make sense? my vf39 had a hairline crack in it and i right away felt the loss in torque...

i'd say go with an 18g of vf34. after the vf39 i had.. i dropped in a vf34 and got that tuned as well.. great reliable power no cracks.
