So I went and purchased another usb-serial adapter... no luck... the thing is that in the AP Map Manager program.. when I try to select the com port... nothing shows up.. Is anyone running this on vista?

Just in case anyone is wondering: I fixed it...
You have to right click on the shortcut, click properties
Change it to run in Windows 98 Mode
and run as an administrator.
Open AP Manager
If it still will not connect manually select the com port.

Did you go to the pull down menu and select configure communications?

What brand did you pick up? I believe the Belkin doesn't work with the AP.
