Let's be honest: When we think of exciting cars, Toyota isn't the first name that pops into our heads. We aren't the only ones who feel this way, and the high-ups at Toyota have heard our cries. Here now, we see the FT-86 Concept, set to debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show -- a rear-drive, two-plus-two coupe.
Details are slim as of this writing, but we know that the FT-86 is powered by a 2.0-liter Subaru-sourced Boxer four and that the key ingredients of making this car sporty are lightness and a low center of gravity.
Is that you, Toybaru?
Consider us stoked, and stay tuned for the full details. Click through to read Toyota's very short press release.

* Compact design gives driver greater control, while body's lightness and low center of gravity allow racecar-like handling
* Both power and environmental performance provided by 2-liter boxer engine and light body
* Flash Red body color contains hint of blue; interior expresses modern feel with minimal coverage of the highly refined structural components evoking enthusiasm for cruising

Now where does it say turbo? Or you're taking these comments as word as what it will be?

I was having this conversation with "THE JON" and we both had the same feeling towards
it but i dont mind having a N/A or Turbo version, but i would like to have a AVCS in it!! Maybe something close to what a hybrid leggy motor compression ratio is at. But I hope they dont advertise this like how the scion commercial was like with the different paint schemes/rims/etc. etc. Next thing you know, it'll be on the top 10 high insurance rate cars. Doesnt matter since Ill be a TA-TA by then paying 600 bucks full coverage for a year.

i think it'd look a bit better with colormatched A pillar and B pillar.
and with the concept hatch, they should reconsider the fender flares, i know it won't flow, but i'm really missing box flares.

While I know this may have nothing to do with the FT-86, and I'm tired of hearing about it already; Proof that Toyota can still make a good sports car:
Well, a good sounding sports car anyway.
