Top Speed Pro 1 EL headers?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-06...spagenameZWD1V

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=300101711684

http://www.topspeedauto.com/ProductC...&idproduct=468

I have searched IWSTI/I-Club/NASIOC and still can't find anything on these...
I know the perils of the slip fit sections... but having them welded up after fitting them shouldn't be too much of a problem

Just curious if anyone has heard of these... pricing is WAY cheap so naturally I'm skeptical, but at the end of the day... I"m running a SSAC FMIC (Ebay bought - TXS Knock-off) and a Dynasty Auto TBE (Ebay bought - made in China) and they have held up well for the past ~year...

so... I'm looking ... since it's ~1/2 the price of the GTSpec/GPMotos...

any input (other than "SEARCH") would be helpful. and if you happen to know what "search" worked. I'd appreciate it as I'm always looking to improve my searching skills... lol

TIA

i'm just guessing but my exp with things of this nature tells me your going to have some fitment issues. i remember when the obx headers first came out there were fitment issues with those. my feeling is go for it and expect a few problems, but you never know, they might be great.

hrmm.. you're right.. and so I'm gonna buy a set... (depending on cost/shipping)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=300101711684
Buy it now is: 249.99 + 88.38SH = 338.37 shipped from Texas

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-06...spagenameZWD1V
Buy it now is; 279.99 + ??.??SH (inquired today) = ???.?? shipped from Canada?

gonna put in the order soon as I get word back from the second vendor on shipping...

I'll keep everyone posted... seems the 350Z guys like the headers.. but then.. they don't have the slip fit expansion sections.. we'll have to see..

It might be ok...try it...if it sucks they seem to back up their work.

If anything you may have to play with it a bit to get it to line up...just make sure not to throw all the plastic trays and surrounding stuff back on until you've tested it.

I have never heard of that brand but As for me; I suggest:

Fujitsubo EL 2nd best in the market $1200
Zerosports EL $1599 (the best in the market)
Perrin EL $600-799

just my .02cents

Good Luck!!

Pricey. There's a thread on NASIOC showing performance results for many headers (both unequal and equal-length). Personally, I'd look for a header that performs well and then have it externally coated. You can wrap it, but my experience with the stock turbo was that I roasted the heat wrap in no time. Just my opinion.

Yes they are!!! I've also heard of header cracking with the heat wrap.

Well,.. found another set (same maker/brand/design) from another e-bay vendor... "DriftFactoryWarehouse" in Cali...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=160091500582

Total shipped: $272.99 (at that price they'll go to Hi-Tech Coatings for Ceramic Coating before install)

We'll see how they look and fit when they get here.

Thanks for all the input and YES i did read it all.. the focus on my STI has been and continues to be: What performance can you get from readily available, "knock-offs" for the least money.

I'm no JDM-monger... don't really care about brands either.

Just like the FMIC, and the TBE, already on my car... I'll be looking (and posting) how the Top Speed Pro 1 EL headers work/fit.

Thanks again

once you get them let us know how the fit and how they work. would be nice to get a nice set of headers for less than 600 plus shipping and coating, If I go that route.

I wouldn't really say that a lot of these parts are "knock offs" they're just made by smaller outfits trying to make a name for themselves. I like where you're headed though...if you can save big bucks by buying the cheaper part and get all of the same performance than more power to you!

Hell, I built my entire bang1mobile project from used performance parts (look at my trader rating). I think the only things that I bought new were like a K&N Filter, Brake Pads and all the various fluids. I estimate that I saved around $3,000 doing it this way and no one knew the difference.

What about these. Not bad price, and they're coated.
