I'll be doing one soon. do a search.. i've posted SOME parts necessary for this to get done right. provided i can get the rest of the pieces i need for my car i'll be doing it soon.

i've got the majority for a manual car to do this job but since mine was auto to manual then i'm going this timing belt job i need a couple more pieces first

It isn't toooo bad to do. Getting the crank pulley off is a chore. Other than that, you just take off the cover and the belt is right there. The subaru service manual pretty much explains it clearly, there are marks you line up on the belt and on the gears.

Piece of cake, just ask Joey to borrow his belt tool (wink wink!!) Sorry, inside joke. Really it isn't all that difficult, you are all pretty much correct w/ all you are saying. And I'd be willing to help out, anyone who wants my help.

OMG!!!

peaty blessing this thread!

Jon

awesome dude... do you happen to have the 2.0L subaru edition one as well? I've got the FSM but that helps as well. I'm ordering the "special tools" so far I've got quite a list of them.

I've added three more PDF's to that thread not sure that they will help or not. Best I can do for now. if you have the SM that's gonna help too.

Thanks!

I'm not dumb to mechanic work on my car so I'm more than sure that'll just be time consuming at most. I'm also as stated before buying the RIGHT tools for the job so that its much easier.

Thanks again

Jon

Edit: Peaty, I don't know if you saw my previous post regarding the 2.0L timing belt replacement one. Do you happen to have the pdf for that engine as well?

I guess I can use the 2.5 one as a reference. I'll just take it slow
