If you're willing to deal with the repercussions - I say go for a NOS-brand or NX-brand wet 50 shot. To do everything the "right way" you should opt for the remote bottle opener, vent tube kit, bottle warmer, and purge kit.

Make sure you drop boost and maybe a degree or two of timing to ensure safety and have at it!

As long as you have sufficient octane in the fuel (the 100 unleaded from Gayle's station should be GREAT for this!) I think you'll be running VERY well.

Oh, copper plugs gapped to ~.028" (with a parallel electrode to tip gap) are very recommended in a nitrous + boost application as well.

Make sure your tires are spinning (shouldn't be a problem!) as a nitrous-sprayed sticky-tire clutch drop would probably spell the end of some pretty delicate drivetrain components. Heheheh.

Boooooooooyaaaaaaaaaaa! Nitrous is the nectar of the Gods!

well, you don't have to spray right off the line either, that could save some problems from happening.

... and if you want to take up the hitman job, ... give me a call. We can start some sort of union.

Wouldn't that just be the life?

Richard,

How would I go about setting the UTEC up? I'm assuming I'd have an additional solenoid (probably provided with the kit) and I'd want it to come on probably after 4500 or 5000 rpm; but isn't there a way that I could have it only come on after I've launched, like Sean says?

Sure, you can have the UTEC control the solenoid but I think you're getting too technical.

Just have it set up to only spray during WOT (VERY important) and you won't want to spray anything before 3500rpm anyway so have a manual momentary button connected to the whole shebang to keep things under "pilot control".

Over automating the system is easy to do and not always beneficial.

P.S. For everything I've mentioned above you are look at a little less than a grand ($1k) for everything.

You'll also have to think about nitrous costs. I don't know how many runs you'll get from a full 10lb. bottle - but I bet it'll be less than 10. Maybe 8 or so. (I used to get 3 on my V8 cars). I haven't checked on the price of the giggle per pound in years but let's say it's $4.25. That's $42.50 per bottle for 8 runs...

Just things to consider since I've been there MANY times.

Jimmy has a ton of bottles at his house that need to be re-certified, but those are the only nitrous parts that I have access to.

Blew My Motor

Launched the car, sprayed, banged the rev lmiter hard, blew the motor.crankshaft right through the block, pieces all over the ground. Few Questions: Since it hasent been stripped yet, what would you think kind of damage is done, and cost wise, how much do new blocks and things of that nature go for, or would it be worth it to just got for a stroker kit???? Need advice!! If this is goign to be to much, im just going to get rid of the car

Once I get my radiator in order...

I think that if I get off early enough on Fri, enroute to the new Speedgear, I'll stop off at Ron's.

Wouldn't it be cool if I blew my engine or tranny before I ever got to upping the ante?j/k

It's at Schuman right now.

I believe that a new radiator will be forthcoming.
