Thanks For The Dent

super sorry to hear about your story. that really sucks. i just got into my first "accident" too. a neighbor of mine was having a party a couple of weeks ago. and it was a meet night so when i came back, someone had parked in my spot on the street and so i parked blocking my driveway. the next morning i went around the front of my car and there was this huge scratch and my front plate was pushed halfway in. the suv in front of my car that night reversed into my car. i didnt really do anything about it since the person hit my car and just left. yea i could have called the cops and all that but oh well. im just gonna wait for someone to sell their front end.

The last time someone swung their door open and dinged the side of my car, I was like "what the hell?!"
She just looks at me and says oops and then continues on her way.
I stopped her and said, "that's no oops... that's a friggin dent!"
I walked up behind her car and started taking down lic plate, walked to the front windshield and took her VIN.
I told her I was going to have my insurance fix this and that she'd be paying back my insurance company for the damages.
She and her boyfriend/husband (who is now on the scene) says it doesn't look too bad. Let me just pay for it now so we can skip the insurance stuff. He busts out a couple $20.
I said no way... I got all their info and that was it.
That's the best way to get things like that resolved. Get all their info (lic#, insurace, VIN, registered owner of vehicle, driver). My insirance went after them and they even had to pay my deductible. I got a nice check in the mail from their insurance company.
Next time someone does that to you and you catch them, document everything. They will end up paying.
