I feel that the TGV are a restriction, and so I don't really see it as adding power per se...as a larger turbo would add power; you're removing a restriction that should have never been there in the first place.
The TGV inlet is a restriction and isn't there on the jdm manifolds, and their stuff always flows better than ours.
I would say that, other than going with a bigger turbo, this is really the only thing left you can do.

Any benefits or a waste of money? Are the power gains worth the moola?
Just readin' up on it and looking at Grimmspeed.
Chris (Substitude), I see you got one.. pending installation. What do you know about it?
Does anyone have theirs installed and what are your comments.
TIA!

My car stutters alot on cold starts until the engine warms up, then it drives normal after that. I dunno if Jarrad can tune out the the cold start stuttering. I was tuned by him twice, but then again I never asked him about it.

I'm not sure what the effect would be. I'd assume there would be some loss down low, as it's going to affect velocity. Just remember that the effect won't be the same as a new header or a new turbo.
I think that the power gain would be within 8-12whp or so. I'd favor the 8 more than the 12 though. Some people would say money wise that it's not a worthwhile gain. My point is that there probably will be a gain, because you're eliminating a known choke point, but it's just relative to what you think is worth it.

Just spoke with Grimmspeed.
There will be a slight loss at the low end but 'significant' gains up top.
Reid-o, too bad factory turbos don't come this good.
If they were, It will put Subaru on the map.
I'm starting to think it is worth it.

We used to complain about the factory turbo selection from the factory for Evos and DSMs. It's a simple fact that the American consumer likes low end torque, or why else would there be tons of threads on the word "spool?"
Engineers always base their selections on driving taste and polls because if you look at the JDM selections, their curves are much peakier than ours and they generally put up with less torque and response for better top end.
One of the best street turbos for 2.0l subarus and for older 4g63 is the EVO3, which is a stock JDM part. The USDMs DSMs got the crappy 14b and the Subarus got the td04 from the factory. lol

You can probably run fine without them.
Just makes sure they do a final boost leak test after they pull the manifold off and put it back.
You may also want to think about the phenolic spacers.
I honestly don't know if the spacers are worth it, but it seems logical since they'll doing work in there anyway.
Requesting the boost leak test after the manifold is off is important. It's easy to get injector seal leaks. Jimi's pretty much an expert at tracking leaks I think, so he'll know what to do

I also have the grimmspeed TGV Deletes. I can't compare them on my car to not on my car. But I do think they help on the top end for us big turbo guys. Grimmspeed makes nice products and you can send in your core. I paid the full then send in my core and they gave me back the core fee. It was like 140bucks. I don't regret buying them.

I'm convinced that the good outweighs the 'bad.'
I'm going for it, and I'm going custom.. shouldn't be too hard, ya?
Thanks Folks, for all the input to help me make my decision. Can't see any reason not to, really...
