TGV Deletes
Any benefits or a waste of money? Are the power gains worth the moola?
Just readin' up on it and looking at Grimmspeed.
Chris (Substitude), I see you got one.. pending installation. What do you know about it?
Does anyone have theirs installed and what are your comments.
TIA!

I think I am @ stage 3, according to Cobb's definition..
Yes, i am looking to eek out a lil mo from my small enjin - while keeping the stock internals.. trying to get ready for Jarrad's tune in a couple of months.

I don't recall exactly what kind of gains I'll get with that specific mod, but it just made perfect sense to do it. I was planning on keeping the project under $1K, but that's out the window with the bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, tgv deletes, boost control solenoid, etc.

When you say they work really good.. what exactly do you mean? better top end? do you lose bottom end as a tradeoff? How about starting the car.. I've rread on some cars, TGVs don't behave very well on normal driving but kicks butt on spirited driving.. comments?

There's actually no reason not to do them with a large compressor. It's all about time and cash. If you have both, they increase airflow and in the hands of a good tuner that means horespower. How dramatic is dependent once again on the tuner and the potential flow of the compressor and turbine.
The driveability issues that people have are from doing them without a remap; in other words, it's nothing Jarrad can't handle.

Reid! Was just waiting for you to post and reply..
I don't know if my compressor will be large enough.. but it is larger than my last one.
So you are sayin'there isn't a downside to having the deletes done and installed?
You already know my car's setup.. what you think?
