swapping manifold
Has anyone swapped out their stock turbo manifold yet? Is it straight forward to were I just unbolt it from the block and replace or do I have to remove engine mount bolts and stuff like that? I was thinking of doing it today or tomorrow after work but if its gonna take awhile and alot of removal than I'll wait till the rest of my upgrades come. Any help is good. Thanks guys

Turbo manifold? Do you mean uppipe? Are you talking about the intake manifold?

If it's a JDM intake manifold, there is virtually no difference in anything other then the red color. Seriously. However, a little lower on an STi, you'll find no TGV's like the US counterparts have. But then again the TGV housing is a seperate piece.
But to make things as troublefree as possible, either trace everything out and make sure it's a direct match, or ust move the harness over without even thinking twice about it.

Im just putting the JDM piece on cause it has the injectors on them already. I guess I'll just swap harness when I get to it. Are the fuel rails on the JDM piece any better than the usdm? Thanks.

From what I understand, the TGV's are only there for emissions. I know you don't need them, but you may get a CEL by unplugging the servo that drives them. Perhaps you could remove the servo and keep it plugged in?
