Since there were no comments about lunch I'm gonna shoot for the first idea (Buca di Beppo). I'll try and make an advance reservation for 40+ people (with room to grow since family and friends may be there as well). Rather then try and hit them with 40+ checks my proposal is to collect $10 from everyone as we go in and we'll order that much worth of food and soft drinks (and tip).

Comments??

Sounds good to me, as long as there is enough parking and we can keep everybody happy at the same place...

Note:
On sunday the parking at ward should be ok... I guess?

Here is a link to the Buca Di Beppo web site (with menu):

http://www.bucadibeppo.com/

Thanks for the ideas.

The problem with Waikiki is that folks with mods prefer to avoid due to a certain officer. Parking would also prove to be difficult. Chili's is always a fund place to go, but I'm thinking we would need to take over a good portion of the place.

what WES said... you can always find parking at the Toys R Us parking lot!

If not that parking lot then you can use the pearlridge top level parking lot...

both have been mentioned already and are both great ideas!

The second stop will be at Pearlridge at the top level of the parking structure. Even during mid day it's empty, so it should work for the timeframe we'll be there..

Back to lunch. I'd like to decide by this weekend. So the 2 options are:

1) Buca Di Beppo at Ward (See my original plan for that)

2) Everyone picks up lunch at the Ala Moana stop and we eat at Kaakako Park

If we do option one I will make a reservation for 40 people with room to grow and pre-order some food based on 40 X $10 = $400. They will probably require me to pre-order at least part of the food and as long as I get 40 people to show with $10 I don't get left holding a big tab. I'm depending on the poll being fairly acurate....

If we go with option two, then everyone is on their own....

COMMENTS?

Tim,

If you decide the Buca route...I can provide some insight on that. I hosted a conference icebreaker there a few months ago. There was 35 ppl in the party and I charged $26/person which didn't include drinks. The full bill was about a $1000; HOWEVER, there was a TON of LEFTOVER food. So, when you call in to reserve an area for 40 ppl...don't ask them on how much to order because they will order you WAY TOO MUCH!!!. If I could do it over again...I would charge no more than $15/person with soft drink included. That should work and there won't be leftovers. I took home 7 containers of food and other ppl took some stuff. Hope this helps and gives you a good idea that your preliminary numbers are pretty accurate.

If you need any help with other stuff, let me know.

Jason

I noticed we have 46 yes's and 7 maybe's. That is over 50 people or just cars???? I will be bringing my wife and two friends. So in my car alone I will have 4 including myself. Before making full reservations at Buca...need to find out a more accurate count and not just the cars which will take up the entire lot across the street. Just a thought.

financially speaking i think if everyone is on their own they will have the option of packing lunch- musubi's, etc. no pressure i opt for option 2, to aleviate any possible financial burden buca's may bring(if there i$ any at all...)- some may have families going

i was wondering- on the actual "cruise" anyone down for a tantalus drive? it's an awesome view esp. in the daytime.
