I know it's kind of hard to do, but you should stock bolt-on parts that generally sell for $200 or less. I am one of those people who like to "impulse" buy, I generally don't like to special order. Things like front/rear strut bars, radiator cooling plates, JDM badging/emblems/stickers, engine dress-up parts and the like should be a good start.

I agree that you should have *cheaper* performance item. Things that I don't mind impulse buying. Big things you usually think through before buying, so ordering online is not a problem, but if you can buy the <$200 items locally and see them before you do then that would be awesome. Things like strut bars, sway bars, brake pads, brake lines, grounding kits, and even performance fluids.

^^^However, you should also have available such performance parts that are more special orders but don't overcharge when you do special order.

Let's say a store says yeah I can order you XYZ exhaust for $600 but in reality you could order it on your own for $550. Which way do you think customer would go?

If anything charge the same amount that someone would get for ordering it online but have the added bonus that you will be the one administering the headache of ordering and waiting for the parts to come in...perhaps charge $10-$20 for that...ugh it's late and I don't make sense.

Talking ynot...

hum.. for $50 as a difference.. i do not see a problem to buy locally since warranty can be handled by the store...save time, shipping, and headaches...

it depends on what you are trying to do with the store. the businessman in me says carry some rice, the other part says carry stuff we use, but i can't really say. It's your store, but in all honesty the rice stuff sells........

Well... it's hard because it depends on the products. If David is not the authorized dealer, he won't get the "dealer" price. At a businessman standpoint, he has to charge you a lil bit more in order to make some profit.
