Subaru Parts and Service Department...changed :(
OK so here we go.
I went over to the Subaru Parts and Service Department just now to buy a gasket for a DP install. I've been there before at least 5 times and it used to be just like going to a regular parts department and saying what you want.
NOW, they say that they are only acting as distributors now and will not be able to sell parts OR do service at their location because they don't want to compete with the dealerships.
The ghey part is that now you either have to go to 5 Scar or Pflooper to get parts or get service done. I can't even get that ABS ECU change done over there.
DAMN...I loved it when they were able to act as a real Parts and Service Center because it is so inconvenient to go to 5 Scar or Pflooper. Oh yeah, I also would NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER take my car to 5 Scar.
I hope someone from Subaru of Hawaii reads this and realizes that they are not only wasting money (they've got 3 nice and new lifts just collecting dust) but are making it more and more inconvenient to get the service that we need.

BTW There's nothing to boycott because they aren't selling anything...which is the problem! :rotfl:

i got a taste of this thursday when i went to go price a couple of things and found that the parts and service werent allowed to compete with the other dealer ships. sucks cuz now im sure theyll mark up parts too like they do the cars.
EX. 06 WRX is like 32,000 and the STI was 38000, thats just rediculous. not to mention that the wrx wagon i saw had a tiny cute little intercooler in it.

i had a similar thing happen to me yesterday. i called the one in waipahu up a week ago to get some prices and to see how long it would take to get the parts in. the guy said he would call me right back. a week later i called them again to see if he had found the info i requested. they told me he would be in 15 later and he would call me. 6 hrs later i went in there personally and found that the list of 4 parts i had asked for was just sitting there and nobody bothered to call me back. turns out the idiot put down the price and the dealer cost so i could actually see how badly they were trying to rip me off. 4 parts...dealer cost $603/my cost $1030. yeah i walked outta there fast. forget these phlooser bastards, if i need a part i'll go online. i recomend you guys not buy parts from them unless you have no other choice.
