well, uhm, just felt it was kind of measly on the numbers. **shrug**
to each his own.

What I didn't say, and I didn't mean to bum you out about it or anything with the numbers thing:P,
was that I can't wait to hear about the suspension setup on this thing

I understand the balanced approach to it all and starting a bit small and building, but sometimes, going big and tuning it down is a better approach to going small and losing peoples interest.

2 cents.

Point taken. But you have to remember that Toyota/Subaru had a goal in mind when they built this car and stuck to that goal. They weren't trying to build the next Supra or a two-door STI, and I think this is were many people ended up being underwhelmed. But kudos to Toyota/Subaru, they knew this car wouldn't be for everyone but they stuck with their mantra. And those of us who want this sort of car, an alternative to the Miata finally have it. For the guys who are power-crazed and care only about numbers and performance, well Subaru already builds a car for you: it's called the STI. Why would they need another one?

This project was always meant to be the spiritual successor to the AE86 Sprinter/Levin Tureno. A small power, light-weight, inexpensive coupe. If anything this was always built as a Miata fighter, not a 370Z fighter. And thats the thing that gets me riled up. People I talk to were expecting the next Supra, but that was never what this car was supposed to be.

The BRZ is going to be awesome! Definitely a momentum driver, but I will be waiting for the STI version. I frequently check out BRZ-Club, they got everything BRZ.

I'd personally like 200whp at least, but it will probably still be stupid fun and fast - like a 1st or 2nd gen miata. To make it a really fast autox car, you'd need the 300hp motor. Wonder how large of a tire it can take... if it could fit 285 or bigger hoosiers, it could be a top 5 PAX car. I'm totally biased as to how it would tackle the local autox track though, for DDing and track driving, I'm sure it'll be great. Still thinking of picking one up...

I'd auto-x mine.

I figure it's got a way better power to weight ratio than my car, and running some large 275 or 285 15's on it would make up for grip... I don't care if they stick out of the fender wells, Heck my current setup already does...
