STI vs MR Insurance rates
Damn I just realized that the rates on my insurance on my STI is about $50 higher than on the MR (6 month premium). Both have the same coverages and everything. One would think the older car would be cheaper than the newer (05 vs 08). How is this possible? Is it all the attention that the STI has been gaining from the younger crowd maybe? Damn you kids for raising my rates Billy, John Leo (my wife's cousin), you know who you are

Insurance companies also look at the age of buyers for a particular vehicle. A 25 year old is not usually going to be able to afford a $50K+ M3, but he probably could afford a STi. Usually younger drivers are more reckless and get into more accidents...therefore, they charge higher rates for said vehicles.

To give you an idea of the rich parents in my area...there is a kid playing soccer right now at his high school's private field...he drove up in an Evo. Makes me sad for his parents everyday I drive by that field.
I went to Mid-Pac where you could argue that there were many rich kids...the best car on the lot at that time was either a really nicely done Civic Hatchback and a new 325i...circa 1997.
I guess my post has no point...just wanted to share this.

maybe its cause the evo's dont seem to hold their value like sti's. i always see used evo's for half or less than what they cost brand new and they're only a year or so old.
