Right now the STi is my only car too. I haven't knoticed any pinging, and maybe someone should ride along with me to see if they can hear it.
Since you have a newer STi you probably already have the reflashed ECU.

I don't think anyone is raising a stink, but just voicing their frustations. I continue to be patient and figure if I really need the reflash now I'd just rent a car for a week while mine is sitting in their shop. I did also offer some constructive comments about ordering 1 or 2 extra ECUs and doing the loaner ECU thing while a customers ECU is being reflashed.

This is not a molehill Joey, this is a big deal.

I'd also suggest that those who have not gotten the factory reflash to go ahead and get it. The revisions SOA made to the knock control/learning logic is a great thing to have on your side.

We all need this reflash soon. Summer is coming soon and with the extra heat, the car will be extra easy to make det.

if you are wondering what is actually happening and causing the det. turboxs has a little writeup now about it. they explain it easier than i remember what shiv wrote.

http://www.turboxs.com/turboxs_tech_101.htm

i have had it seemingly the worst of all cases. down to a full on zero power while flooring it for 2-3 seconds long.

note: the additive has masked the problem and the car gives me zero isses while autoxing now.(powerwise)

Just an update. I was had to go out of town for 2 weeks so dropped off my car to have the chip sent in. Picked it up this morning with the updated ECU.

I haven't tried pushing it too hard yet, but will once the the ECU has relearned my driving..

I know, everyone has a Cobb AP now and doesn't care.
