I called the waipahu subaru and their reflash system is not working and they said that Beretania's is not working as well. I don't think that mine is pinging but would it be alright just to have it reflashed just in case?

What he said, Braun also told me that they have a FHI rep there today trying to figure it out and mehlt not sure if you ordered the injector caps but mine are still not in yet...

I guess that would explain the message I got. Hopefully they get it sorted out and can start the reflashes. I haven't had any problems lately, but I also haven't pushed it the right way either.

I haven't stopped by to report the missing cap (Turns out I'm only missing one). Hopefully they order extras, but will stop in soon to report it either way.

Called last week software is still not working correctly it fixes the det problem but seems to be causeing other problems according to Braun. Seem like they are in no big hurry to get the correct fix I'm just waiting for somebody to have a engine problem because of the detentation problem and see what they are going to say. They can send out your ECU I believe but for some of us this our only car and can't go a week or so without a car.

As for the injector caps Ed told Braun that they were not needed I said if they weren't needed they would not have been there from the factory????

When I first inquired about these injector caps, I wil like 'what are these guys talking about?' So I inspected mine and they were all accounted for. Well fast forward to today and I checked them. I am missing one of them and there is noticeable dirt/silt building up on it. Sucks.

Based on what I'm hearing from people these things must be popping off.

I tend to agree and while they may not be needed, they do serve a purpose. So do they still plan to replace? I haven't reported mine yet (haven't been by there in a while). I will still report either way so at least if there is an injector related problem I can point to the potential cause.

I am also pretty frustrated with the ECU reflash issue and the lack of urgency. If they can't get the local reflash capability working they should invest in 1 or 2 extra ECUs and do it that way so people's cars don't have to sit in the shop for a week. What worries me the most is that I've heard audible detonation a few times only, but I still could be getting detonation and just not hearing it.

I guess it'll take a few blown engines before this will become a concern. I might just buy a new ECU already and save the older one for ECUTEK or something...

Okay I'm done complaining for today. Got up too early...

OR we should all go down and demand oru ECU be reflashed and while our cars sit they give us a loaner... Back in Washington when I took my Integra to the dealer they gave a loaner if it was going to be more than a set amount of hours and my Integra's value was well below what I paid for my STI...I think we should complain it's not our fault that FHI cant't get their **** right...

Yeah...we can create a stink about the whole issue or we can be patient. I know it sucks, but making a mountain out of a molehill won't solve much. It might in the end, but the way you get to the solution may not be helpful in the future.

Right now the STi is my only car too. I haven't knoticed any pinging, and maybe someone should ride along with me to see if they can hear it.

You're right......but this has been stretched out pretty long considering some of us have had our cars for about 10 months now and I believe the reflash has been available for something like 6. I think whats disappointing is that it doesn't "seem" like there's much urgency here.....hopefully something is done soon.

While I don't hear det "that" often I'm sure its still there. If you drive with your windows down and/or with the music loud you probably won't notice it. If you want to try and hear it.....try 3rd gear around 3-4k rpm for a couple seconds with a rapid change to WOT (similar to an onramp situation), you could even try it on a slight incline. This is just what I noticed as I tried to dinf some type of solution (gas, water sprayer, etc) but its pretty funky.

Audible det sucks....and you know there's definitely more that you cant hear

Nobody is making a stink about it... I ordered the caps three or four weeks ago and the for some reason they haven't come in yet...Since I had them order the caps I've only called them once about them and I've had my car since June and have only called like three times asking about the ecu reflash and it's the same thing each time "We can send it out but your car will have to sit here while we do it because we don't give out loaner's" or now that they have the capability to do it at Schuman they still can't get it right granted it is not there fault and Braun has kept me informed the few times I've called. It's just that the excuse's are getting old this seems like such a easy fix but it is taking way too long I've read about so many people on the mainland who are getting their's reflashed and have had no problems so what is the deal with the reflash that Schuman got???
