I've been reading those post about the reflash but I don't dig the fact that you have to leave you car there because they need to ship out the ecu. That sucks!

I'm also waiting to hear from others about how things go after the reflash. I really hope a few people do some solid testing before and after to determine how it affects performance.

I'm also gonna try different brands and stations (although I personally havent seen a difference between 76, shell, and chevron) since I'm still noticing it.

I'm sure it'll be a trade off with some loss in performance, but an increase in engine life. If the results from the folks on the mainland are that the detonation goes away without a noticable loss in power I'll probably go for it until I get a good tuners solution in place.

BTW, parked right next to this cool looking Silver WRX with carbon fiber hood (by the gym) after lunch today.

too bad you were gone by the time I got off work!


So those of you here that have heard pinging here, have you run octane boost or 100 octane yet?? Just curious as to what you need to get rid of what you're hearing.
