It's just not ethical. Caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). An STI that's been thrashed should be appropriately priced. How much would YOU pay for it? As for not pricing an STI like a WRX, I agree, provided all things are the same (new car, no miles, perfect condition). But the demo STI is not a demo. It doesn't meet the normal conditions that categorize it as a demo. I got a ride in the STI. Nice. But the two STIs that were in my session were losing ground quickly to my stock turbo WRX with normal street tires. "WRX4ME"

Some vehicles are made for this pupose or that purpose... economical, mid size, SUV, Trucks, specialty performance, and They should all be demonstrated to suite the customers needs.
I think that most individuals like to buy an STi for certain reasons... speed maybe... I know a person that wanted to demo an STi on the tracks for this reason. DEMO = Demonstrate
So we have one STi for this purpose only... I hope that the actually price we sell this demo will make everyone happy.
We still have to consider the proven history of this vehicle.
Buy it... we service it... we make you happy... you got to take advantage of the Demonstration car PRICE. Still has warranty... come down and check with the service department in person for the extent of the warranty.
GREAT FORUM YOU GUYS...
I love it!

I tried to see if there were any used car quotes for the 2004 STI (KBB, NADA, Edmunds). Apparently, there aren't any yet.
What you could do is see what percentage the price has dropped for the '03 WRX and subtract that amount from the MSRP for the DEMO.

Pat,
if thee was a "track day" column, I'd agree. The only thing I'm trying to say is that a track driven "demo" is not the demo most are familiar with. One of the guys here on the board bought a demo that had been tracked and he didn't know about it. Ouch!

Ok...I'm stepping in here and I'm going to make this CRYSTAL CLEAR.
First off, Jeremiah, I got your PM. Let me know what you think. Secondly, if you did buy the car knowing it was raced at the track, you cannot get upset about Schuman trying to sell another demo car. I admit, the price is rediculous for a raced demo, but I can't stop them from posting in here.
Nino, I've talked to you many times and have no malcontent for you or anyone else at Schuman. However, there is no need to "sneak on" as another user and try top state your case for the car. Face it, if you try to advertise on here, you're just going to get flack from everyone unless you sell a car it that condition for a price that the members here will like. You don't have to like everyone's opinions and no one has to like what you post. Simple as that.
I'm frankly getting tired of everyone getting upset at Schuman salespeople for posting up here selling items, not to mention the PM's I get to "close threads" and "stop making them post". The whole reason why this site was started was to avoid closing threads for silly reasons. Listen...if you guys don't like what others post, don't be idiots and respond. All that does is keep the post alive. If you really want to let something die, DON'T REPLY THERE! If you guys have a problem with anyone for their posts and comments, PM them. Son't keep letting these topics drag out. I've said it once before and I'll say it again...I can be an ******* and move any thread I don't like into the dumpster, but Aledx wanted this site to be ionformative and relatively free of moderation. I can't close this thread and I have no problem with it.

Bravo, Joey.
I don't have any problem with Hawaii salespeople getting on here and posting deals. It happens on the BAIC all the time and nobody has a problem with it.
I never got the vehemence towards the salespeople in the first place.
With that being said - the STi "demo" price is absolutely insulting and if someone buys the car at that figure they're getting raped. I have to believe that nobody can be happy about doing that to a customer - no matter what the spiff.

and how is them telling us that the car was treated like crap, a bad thing?
And I honestly belive that Nino and WRX mad man or whatever his name is, are 2 different people.
I think WRXMM was using a computer that Nino uses, and when Nino posted, he didnt log the other guy out. (happened to me before)
That's my take on this confusing thread
