Sean,

Since I wasn't able to find info on the HKS, how much PSI can it hold. I know that the blitz one can only hold a maximum of 17~18PSI

I heard that forge was good

ehh, .... who told you the blitz could only hold 17-18??

... and I guess I never really got into WHY there is even a blow off valve in the first place. SO, ... the reason it's there is to relieve back pressure off of the turbo compressor when you let off the throttle (anytime the throttle plate closes). If there wasn't a BOV, the air that slams against the closed throttle plate (remember, we're talking forced induction) would flow 'backwards' through the intake tract and back into the turbo's compressor, ... which is spinning "fast" in the opposite direction! Anybody see something wrong with that??
So, it's 'basically' there to save your turbo(less wear and tear), and keep it spooled in the 'right' direction.

The HKS has an adapter that allows you to vent the 'blow off' back into the intake tract. I'm not using it though .......... b/c I like to drive up next to my frinds that have their windows down and blow off!
If you recirculate any bov, it's not going to be very loud, but you'll probably still hear it a little through the intake.
Wes and Richard have the Forge bov that I know of, ... it looks nice, seemd to work well too, you'd have to ask them if they have any problems.
BUT I do know the GFB bov sucks ***!

ok, i'm tired, anybody else feel like adding anything?

Sean

oh yeah, ... and the reason the stock bov recirculates into the intake tract is b/c the air that it releases is already 'measured' by the ecu, so releasing that air into the atmosphere 'messes' with the ecu's calculations of what fuel, etc, etc should be.

I tried to put that as simple as possibble.

bao ling,

I would believe Nolimit's comments and if you still aren't convince start talking to WRX tuners on the mainland (Shiv, etc..) How long has your mechanic friend been working on Subaru's and what are they basing their comments on?
