steven, i have found your new tires.
WESLEY CHAPEL, FL (June 24, 2003) - Yokohama Tire Corporation today announced its latest DOT-legal competition tire, the ADVAN A048, at this year's Porsche Club of America "Porsche Parade" at this Florida resort.
The ADVAN A048 is D.O.T. approved with a Y-speed rating (186 m.p.h.) and a 6/32 tread-depth. This tire carries a UTQG rating of 60/AA/A and is available in three sizes - 225/40R18, 265/35R18, and 285/30R18. Vehicle applications for the ADVAN A048 include Porsche 911, Porsche 911 Turbo, the Porsche Boxster and others.
The ADVAN A048 is a superior performer for circuit-type club racing, delivering an unparalleled level of grip under a variety of course conditions. A combination of design and compounding work together to allow more precise control in high lateral G transitions and provides a better footprint under braking.
The ADVAN A048 features a single block design with a wide center area that continually stays in contact with the road. This single continuous tread block increases the stiffness of the tread and enhances cornering during acceleration and braking. For amateur racers, this translates to enhanced steering response and on-center feel.
The ADVAN A048 easily transitions from full-throttle, straight-line acceleration to high-speed cornering thanks to its rounded casing design developed from Yokohama's latest racing technology. Add to the tire's construction its newly developed race-ready compound and you have a tire that's gives outstanding dry grip in a wide range of temperatures.
The ADVAN A048 will be available from Yokohama dealers beginning in October of this year.
Yokohama Tire Corporation manufactures, markets and distributes a complete line of products for high performance, light truck, passenger car, commercial truck and bus, as well as off-the-road mining and construction applications. Yokohama supports the tire care and safety guidelines established by the Rubber Manufacturer's Association (RMA) and the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA).
