Starter Grinding on cold / warm start

starter probably going bad the gear is not fully extending out causing it to grind into the fly wheel

that was a worry of mine, it's brand new, but then again, anything's possible...

My 02 Wrx never did that!

A subie thing I think not.. It's a car thing! Things Fail!!!

So is getting Sunscreen staying on your dash a subie thing too? It seems like you never had that problem with any of your other cars. Hmmmmm......

Teshbo- note to self, next time don't by a Subaru. You've had your subie for no more than 1year and you have so much questions and problems already. Maybe you and subies weren't meant to be...

lets hope not lol, i've been wanting an sti since before i learned to drive, the sunscreen and wear and tear is whatever, '**** happens', but eh, no big deal in having questions, that's how i know as much as i do.

now on the other hand, hard parts failing early? that's never a good sign. still, filing it in the '**** happens' column.

Yup my car certainly doesn't do it. The only weird sound I hear is the chatter from my clutch lol.

hm, well i dunno, i know there's not much that can be done about something that's a random occurrence that can't be replicated. time will tell then..

most likely on a small section of the flywheel/flexplate...you have some wear/ground down teeth...
