What ever you do do not buy anything from Vivid they have known to be thieves. It dosen't say anything about heads so not sure if it comes with them or not and thats kind of expensive..

Yeah, stay away from Vivid. I heard countless horror stories. Just go direct to Axxis' website and inquire about the Stage 6 if you're really serious.

If you're looking for a built engine, check out Crawford Racing or Axis Power Racing. Both are proven engine builders.

Uuhhmm,

that motor is from Axis Power Racing. Just a suspect middleman selling it.

Yup yup, that's an Axis block. Seems like no one has noticed, but that is a genius method of holding the sleeves in place. Call them direct.

Crawford also makes awesome motors. They have a proven block at PR

Also, SYC (Santiano, Yanes, Calavera) Systems has a project with the 2.5 STi block; we're sleeving the block and further closing the deck for added support. The project is currently on hold until we return from Iraq. We'll also specialize in ej series engine and drivetrain swaps.

isn't the semi-closed deck to help cooling? so if you close the deck(for added strength) how much effect you guys think it will make(if any)? having that, will it allow for much higher boost?sounds interesting. don't mind me, i'm no mechanic and i'm definitely a nOOb in this area.

Yes and yes. We're not completely closing the deck; we are adding supports to keep the sleeves from shifting. Vibration is more apparent up top of the sleeve than it is on the bottom. The supports will need to have the same characteristics as the block due to thermal expansion.

We are currently eyeballing the GT42R for the project. If it handles the boost, I'll let you know.

Also, just to give you an idea of how much we'll actually close off, look at the cooling passages on the heads. We plan on placing the supports on the areas that don't cover the passage ways. This way, there will be no cooling restrictions to the heads.
