Why is that gay?
I'm going to buy a car with the specific task of doing an engine swap to it. So i'd like to know how much and the availability of a front clip is. I'm seeing them for a around $2500. I just want to know if I can get one cheaper.
If BoOM can get them for $1800 that's better than $2500

If you are planning on getting a 240 for the sr swap it is best to get an s14 because of the MANY advantages it has over the s13 and put in an s13 red top sr. The reason I say red top is because they are SIGNIFIGANTLY cheaper and quite easy to rebuild. Get the red top, do a full rebuild with Factory sunny GTi-R rods and a new turbo and your set for 400 hp. People well tell u swapping in an s13 sr into an s14 car is very hard, but if u talk to someone who knows what he is doing its a snap. Ive done about 6 of em.

I could have named myself "TenPoundCock", but that doesn't mean it's true? Who care's what your screen name is?

Lets see:
Better geometry on the rear suspension
wider track
better aerodynamics
5 lug
thicker radiator
stiffer frame rails
stiffer a, b and c pillars
stiffer chassis in general
halogen/projector lights
better weight distribution
shorter throw struts and shox
larger tie rod ends
solid front frame mount
much better driving position
better visablility
engine bay is 2" longer making the swap MUCH easier
quieter interior
bushing mounted diff
gas tank mounted in a safer position
driver and passanger air bags
more refined interior
sportier seats
headlight aimers
lower center of gravity
All in all the major advantage to the s14 is the chassis is MUCH more stable for cornering. Not to mention is a better refined car. Im sure there are things I missed but those are just some I popped off.....

Lets see:
Better geometry on the rear suspension - I'm changing my suspension to how I like it.
wider track - same as above
better aerodynamics - who gives a ****, I'm going to drift it not run it a Bonneville.
5 lug - easy fix
thicker radiator - The motor I'm putting in will require better than that.
stiffer frame rails
stiffer a, b and c pillars
stiffer chassis in general - Thats what a roll cage is for.
halogen/projector lights - big deal
better weight distribution - again if you know how to set up your car this doesn't mater
shorter throw struts and shox - same as above
larger tie rod ends - replacing that **** anyway.
solid front frame mount - I can make my car as stiff as I want all I need is parts and time.
much better driving position - for who my grandma....
better visablility - I'll be looking out of the side windows most of the time anyway.
engine bay is 2" longer making the swap MUCH easier - what does this have to do with the price of rice in China.
quieter interior - who cares... not me, you should have heard my last car
bushing mounted diff - so
gas tank mounted in a safer position - I don't plan on getting hit.
driver and passanger air bags - the air bags in my last two accidents didn't go off.
more refined interior - who cars my interior is coming out...
sportier seats - who want to drive with stock seats....
headlight aimers - big f*ckn' deal....headlight aimers
lower center of gravity - if you knew how to set up you car it doesn't matter
All in all the major advantage to the s14 is the chassis is MUCH more stable for cornering. Not to mention is a better refined car. Im sure there are things I missed but those are just some I popped off.....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of this **** doesn't mater if you know how to set up a car. It's all about your own personal driving style. Personally I don't feel the need to waste a bunch of money on a car that is going to have most of it's parts changed out anyway. And yes I own a 240...

You're probably asking yourself why the S13 is ahead of the S14. Yes the S14 is a more powerful car but the S13 is lighter and more agile. The S14 was critisized from deviating from the pure sports platform the Silvia was based on and becoming too luxury. Also I own a Silvia so I'm biased! The S13 K's is powered by either the sr20det or ca18det. The ca being more tourquey and the sr has more top end. I myself prefer the ca but the sr is a wonderful engine too.
