Sponsorship: worth it?

Sponsorships are a pain in the *** unless you're dealing with really cool people. My friend in the mainland got sponsored for his 1st gen Tiburon with a Beta2.0 turbocharged. The "benefits" of the sponsorship was the same but the problem was that of what he HAD to do within the contract. The car was not really technically "daily drivable" anymore so he had to buy another car and since that was a big problem he quit the sponsorship and he had to pay alot of fees. Sure you get parts at "cost" but to him, that wasn't worth the price of the inconvienence. Plus, the at cost price wasn't a dramatic difference between the msrp price.
