Speeding Tickets

Well monday I got my second ticket in about a week. $299 total for the two tickets. Well I need a good radar detector, and if they are legal here a jammer. Please list whatever you know of that WORKS well to give me a little heads up.

Thanks,
Nathan

Okay the one on monday was a complete speed trap. I got screwed along with about 15 other people. It was going downhill on the H3 right where it goes from 55 to 45!

Plus what good is an STi, or any fast car for that matter if you don't take it fast once and a while.

They ticketed 15 people all at once?? Impressive. By the way....how often do u drive on H3? Thats a regular spot for cops.....and they're in various other places during the day.

Yeah my coworker got busted on that H3 trap going 60 when he hit the 45.

Detectors are fine here, but I don't think jammers are.

I drive the H3 daily, but I was having a bad day and wasn't paying attention. I think only one of my 3 tickets were warranted, and even then the cops should have cut me a huss, because I was late for class thanks to work. There were 4 or 5 cops all on motorcycles and I saw a total of 7 cars not including me get pulled over while I was waiting for my ticket to be given to me.

Well I will go to the track. I only try to drift or drive really fast in areas where there is no one else. I have found several. I've never even been to the track here, and I know I need to check it out. Can I just go there anytime and pay to drive? I don't do stupidness like street racing.

http://www.hrpdragracing.com/hrpschedule03.html --Look for "Street Car Racing". I think Wild Wednesdays are over with for this year. It's $8 to watch or race. Don't forget to ride in the van for orientation. You don't want to get kicked off the line on your first run because you messed it all up (it's not hard, just different if you have never done it before).

http://www.driftsession.com/index2.htm -- Check out the blue bar at the top of that site. It has the schedule for the "Super Lap" series. Basically, road racing on the short course for $75 IIRC. Last time I went was in the spring, and I think I got over an hour of track time in 15 minute sessions. Definitely one of the best investments I've made yet, as I learned a LOT about how the car handles!

Also, there's the SCCA https://www.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31922 schedule. $25 to run IIRC. It's slower than the super lap series, but requires more skill from what I hear. I'm sure the SCCA guys here can elaborate if needed.

If you just want some 1-on-1 time at the track, you can actually hire an instructor out there to show you how to really drive your car (he'll ride, you drive). "jeffildey" is one guy I know that's done this and has talked very highly of it. Send him a PM & he'll help you out.
