Some install pics..
i think some of you know that ive been having a problem with my powersteering system for a few months now.. well i finally was able to save the money for a new steering rack(old one leaks) and a new powersteering pump. i bought a used pump, and it still didnt work right, so im like screw it. im gonna change out the whole system.
i also needed to replace one of my axle seals, my trans has been leaking fluild for a while nowmaking everything sticky under my car lol.
Sorry, pics are crappy and incomplete. There was alot of work to be done and taking pics was just slowing me down.
-New Steering Rack and Whiteline Bushings
-Bushing Removal and Install
-Side by side comparison
-Bushing install completed
This is where the picture set is incomplete, there was so much to remove that i did not take pics. There was just no time. these items include:
-Rack removal and replacement.
-Pump removal and replacement.
*Steering Universal Joint
*Front Subframe
*Front Sway bar
*Aftermarket H-Brace
*Left and Right ball joints
*High pressure lines (these are a pain in the ***)
*Low pressure lines
*Fluid(drain)
*Rack and pinion assembly (duh!!?!)
*Powersteering resovoir (needed to be drained and cleaned)
*alternator
*old powersteering pump
*powersteering bracket (needed to be replaced on new pump)
well thats all i can remember at the moment and, i only have two pics for this section HAHA, kinda crappy, there was no room to take pics. took me all day today, from 8am to 4pm and one lunch break.

Axle Seal replacement.......
The connection of the CV joint to front diff was constantly leaking fluid, i hated this so much. some of you may know how stink gear luid is with its sulfur content.
-Cap removal
This pic below clearly shows the old seal was damaged.
the cap has a seal as well, it goes over the groove in middle...
ahh sorry if this was boring to some of you as it may not be your interest....
well im happy! the work was worth it, powersteering is back and, my car is once again leak free!!

very nice!
is that an OEM rack or did you go aftermarket?
hey just one question though... why does the new rack look way longer than the older one?

OEM FTW!!!
plus they dont make aftermarket stock replacement subie racks. i was seriously thinking of a quick rack.... I think they can to 05+ now... but nah, its too expensive.
the new rack isnt aligned... probably has its tie rods extended.. i did a temporary eyeball alignment on the car.

my rack was 599+shipping..
this is the pricing page, http://www.q-rack.com/QRackPricing.html
if i waited a little longer maybe i could have got one... right now i plan on keeping my old rack and sending that out to them, that way my car wont have any down time.
