There is only a partial outage it seems throughout the islands with Oahu being reported as 95%. Besides, the phones have their own power source. I have seen many times when the power was out but the phone still worked fine. 6.3 richter earthquake near the big island is to blame it seems. Its on the news here in Cali.

Everyone all right?

I was actually doing a bike ride on the upper crater road heading towards the Haleakala summit. I didn't feel a thing, but one of the guys on the ride, felt the road buckle. I was too busy suffering climbing the hill.

yup just got back online. power just restored about 10 minutes ago..
i posted (and jon mostly likely too) just before the power went out...

it was kinda eerie too.. slow outage... wasnt just a "blip" shut off... kinda like the circuits were being bled off slowly...

anyway...we're back online and all is good on the kapolei/koolina side (so far)

latest data is that the biggest recording was a peak of ~6.6 magnitude...

some radio stations reporting as many as 30+ aftershocks...
