Shops in Japan/Korea
During the time of June 18- July 30 im going to Korea and Japan for my summer school program.. But the real reason why i want to go there is because of the car shops there.... Well when i went to Japan last summer i was staying in a small city called ***uoka and the only car shop i could find was Auto Bacs (it wasnt the "super" one) Well when i head down to Japan i want to check out all the Shops because i want to buy a **** load of stuff that would be cheaper than Hawaii.... Well basically i was wondering if anyone knew of any shops that they would recommend me going to.. And if you need something (that doesnt take up alot of luggage space) i could pick you guys up something.... Well ill have a computer so ill visit the places and ill list the prices etc....

What part of Japan are you going to be in? When I went to Nagoya, I visited AutoBacs amd Yellow hat. Try to find *CHUKO* (used) parts shops. I went to one where you could find almost anything your heart desired. Rims, exhaust systems, electronics, etc.
According to my cousin in Japan (Who by the way took me for a ride in a R32 GTR) The "Safety check" system in Japan is so stringent and extensive that after a couple of years, alot of people end up selling there cars and used parts rather then going through the trouble of making their cars legal. So theres always a steady stream of used aftermarket parts available. Cheap too.

Here's a link from BAIC with some shops in Kantou (near Tokyo) and Kansai (near Osaka). I dunno if you're going to be in either area, but anyway look at my posts on the thread for listings

While used prices and parts are available and cheap, locals do a lot of what we do..buy at a discount over the internet. Internet prices are much cheaper than retail prices around Tokyo. And you can have it shipped to your home (customs is a pain with car parts in airports).

Hrm... ***uoka/Kitakyushu... that's a toughie. Gimme a few days and I'll try to get back to you here on local shops in the area.
Buy an Option Magazine and read the ads if you want a good source for Japanese speed shops, BTW.
