Oh, and although I'm much more mature now, everyone knows that the real racing happened on the way to and from the track (not that was I ever part of this).

Oh I also miss watching a lot of the police cars run down the track. Had some pretty fast grand nationals that I used to watch lift the front tires. It sounded strange too, since they weren't 4 bangers but still had a small rumble to them.

running 12.61 @106 with a stage 4 (VF30) using an off the shelf map UNICHIP in a 2.0L WRX. now 12's are slow hahahha

Winning 3rd in a streetcar challenge. Of all the 3 I entered all the supra guys used to talk mad crap about scoobies. I used to holeshot them and have the lead up till half track then their cars would wake up and proceed to lay the smack down lol. Earned some respect after the races though.

Having the mustang and camaro guys hate on us cuz they couldnt belive our ugly bug eyed cars were beating them lol

we had our own little corner in the pits. we used to go so often Dennis the announcer would call us by names when we used to line up hahah

racing the long track with other scoobies was awesome

most of all the best part was it was the weekend, and it was my escape from work, and I got to enjoy that time with my friends.

Funniest:

The kid that was running the drift 240SX that his dad bought him...losing a wheel before the crossover. Car went right and then slid on it's underbelly while the wheel kept rolling into the bushes.

Worst:

My '87 Camaro dieing at the track right at closing when everyone was leaving...this was before everyone had cell phones. Good thing a friend of mine was on her way out and saw me...she had a phone and we called AAA. Turned out the wire to my starter was loose.

The friend later ended up being my roomate for a year at college and couldn't stop reminding me about her kindness.

When the HIIC meets weren't at Starbucks but at HRP.
One of the concession stand girls was pretty hot.
The announcer called my car a Honda Accord the first time I took it out to HRP. I guess they didn't see many GDA's back then. (WTF bug eyes vs standard thin headlights).
Having to gut the back seat to cut weight.
Ice on the intercooler on hot summer nights.

Hmm

Bad - first time I dragged my bike. Stalled at the starting line...
second time I dragged my bike. misshift to nuetral...
Watching an underdog Talon ALMOST beat a 9 sec civic on a holeshot. My friend blew that car apart. Could see the pavement looking in the #2 SPARK PLUG SOCKET....NOT GOOD

Good - finally making a good pass on the bike. Beat a Hayabusa (that guy had no idea what he was doing cause I shoulda been destroyed)

Meeting all the I-Club crew out there after I got my STI.

Got a really good introduction when I had to drive a couple guys down the street to look at some dudes wrecked Miata. Sorry Alexis LOL.

First drag race in my STI against my old car. (94 3000gt with minor mods) STI FTW!! Guess I made the right choice in cars.

Or me beating 9sec bikes at bracket racing with my old 18sec 94L
winning bracket racing my first time trying.
getting second place a few times too

I totally forgot about that one!
Or the track day black hyundai accent with the yellow flames, sh talking about the car as it understeered into the tire wall, (with his wife standing right behind us!?!? ) Oh crap!!!

Ooh, there was that time we outran the turbo ek on the track (idk, short or long course ) and he was checking out our cars in the hot pits, and his friend was saying "hmm nope, not this one either... none of these subarus got turbos..."

Riding joeys bumper in the chicane, watching him pressure out and go for a tank slapper.

ripping off my ver 6 front lip after doing some agricultural work during a bad run at auto-x

Drowning during runoffs in the rain, only for it to stop, then hrp became a mosquito infested steamer...

Finishing a auto-x run and get the commend "hey you're smoking!"
"yeah Thanks, I thought I was pretty good on that run..."
" NO! YOU'RE Smoking!!!"
"Oh crap, we didn't torque down my valve cover bolts!!! Oil everywhere!!! "

Watching the integra guy running around with his car on fire from a bad gauge install, where's the fire extinguisher?!?!?!

Gymkhana with the juoni drifters was fun too.
