Nice 2nd post. As other people have stated, do your research. Subarugenuineparts.com has the STi strut/spring kit for $1350. https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/p...roducts_id=903 I don't know how much shipping would be, but you can find out for yourself. Just because you have a Subaru, don't expect everyone to freely give you all of the answers.
Rick has always been courteous to me, even when they were moving from the old service building (by Rex Tire). If I had a question about a part, he would show me the screen he was looking at. I'm pretty sure it would have been like a drawing from the service manual (NOT IN COLOR).
$187 (employee) vs $700 (walk in), really? If you really wanted to help our community, you could have offered other people your "employee" discount instead of reminding us how much the parts cost. Hopefully it's the correct part you're looking for.
WTF are you saying +1 to? Nice contribution to this thread.

I never had a problem with parts either. I've been there enough that Rick knows me by name and he's always been cool with me. Patience is a virtue and it coUld be they were really busy and they do need to search by VIN number to get the right parts for you even if you know what you want.
Pass his off as a bad experience your first time, as anyone can have a bad day.

we all get pissed and need to vent but this is such a small community that we tend to look out for our own here. rick is an ok guy and it's not his fault he has to charge you what he does for parts. if you don't like the price, do what you did and go somewhere else. the dealership is never gonna give you a great price on everything, hell on most everything really. however they are local and if you're in a pinch you gotta pay to play. live, learn, drive......with aloha

I've also had good service with most of my dealings with Servco (and Rick)--with the exception of price (and that point has been explained here).
It's in your best interest to do research to see what paths you can take. I don't know much about the parts department and how that customer service is assessed or if it is even assessed (it might be low on priority), but I have met with regent ***unaga several times for different reasons, and I'd suspect that Servco (as an entity) is very outcomes based due to his involvement with the University. Basically this means that he likely values assessment assessment and data, and so the different parts of the company likely do the same. I wouldn't be surprised if sales and management are on some type of assessment cycle, for example. I'd think parts would be the same, and if they're not you could start asking why.
If this is the case, then letter writing to proper chains may have more value than to complain on this forum and may actually be more effective at Servco than most other companies. You'd have to convert your rant to something more coherent and inject a bit more detail into it. But if you don't plan on doing anything, then you should probably not vent to the people who frequent that dealership. In other words, go write a letter or post your next rant on Forumshawaii.
