Seafoam

Have any of you guys seafoamed your car. I have a bottle, and I don't know which vac line to suck it into to get to all of the cylinders. Was thinking of just pouring it into my throttle body, but don't know if that would be a good idea. Shoots right on for the help

I have asked before and was told to put it in the vacuum line...Do not put it in your throttle body. The vacuum line that has the shortest distance to the intake manifold is what you should be looking for.
If I were you I would check NASIOC

I did it through the small hose coming off of the stock BOV/BPV. I had mixed results however

Just did it last week. I had my brother keep the revs up and i used the vac line that goes into the BOV. Worked pretty solid, idle smoothed up a bit and it overall better/faster, probably all in my head though. I hope that helps...

its supposed to clean out the carbon deposits from your engine... when you use it it makes choke smoke, like someone will call the fire department kine smoke haha... find a place in the middle of no where to do it, it will last about 20mins or so...

i've read you shouldnt pour it into the throttle body, BPV line is great, because its smaller, there is less risk of hydrolocking the engine. using the brake booster vacuum tube will be risky as its a pretty big hose and will suck too much at once.

to do it you dont really need anyones help keeping the revs up. Put the seafoam in a cup (you put 1/3 of the can through the BPV line) and wedge that somewhere near the line. then in your right hand hold the small line that came off of the bpv and submerge it in the cup/comtainer/whatever and higher up in it fold it to make a kink to slow down the suction. With your left hand grab the throttle wire (since you have an 02) which is below the left side of the intercooler and pull it towards you a little bit to get the RPMs up (there is a little resistance in the wire at first, so don't be afraid).

I've heard water works just as well...the steam is supposed to "melt" the build up. Has anyone tried this or even heard of it?

wow, you would have to be *extremely* careful how much you used. water doesnt compress and it doesnt take alot at all to hydrolock an engine.

well, just a guess. but i am assuming that it acts as a solvent to help break up the carbon and since it is a foam (gasious bubbles) it is able to compress to an extent allowing cylinder travel and preventing hydrolock. but i would still be pretty leary of doing this....

Ha ha...I will have to ask Ty about this one...my car has about 50,000 miles without a oil catch can. If this stuff works safely I will do it before I buy one of those funky filters someone posted earlier that catches the oil aerosols.

IDK looks like a lot of mixed reviews. Maybe you should try the Chinese Water Torture, that way you will have both water & seafoam and maybe one will work
