Hell, if I put a B18A on my little Civic LX would it still be a Civic? Yes. Just because theres a different motor doesn't mean its a completely different car. The regular Imprezas are 2.5L 4cyl, WRX's are 2.0L 4cyl turbo, does that mean its not an Impreza? Regardless what "trim" a car is, its still the same. An Impreza WRX is an Impreza(ever watch Best Motoring, etc?) and a Neon SRT-4 is a Neon.
