We don't have smog testing done over here. However we have safety checks. you have to go to a safety check station and they will check if your lights, horn, wipers, etc. work correctly.

Then there is this thing that is called recon. If you mess with your suspension, have wheels larger than 1" over your stock wheels, and some other stuff, you need to get a reconstruction permit. If you pass the "bounce test" and visual inspection then you can get your permit and a sticker that gets placed next to the safety check stickers (usually on your rear bumper).

That was just the quick and dirty. The other guys could probably get a lot more in depth.

good... so if I get some 18 x 9.5s on an STI it'll be fine. the ***** is that suspension part

hey not completely sure about this but i heard that they had stopped the bounce test also. might be something to check bofore going back to stock setup.

Yea as long as the wheels don't stick out past your fenders it's fine.

I'm not necessarily going back to stock for the safety check. Although it would be nice if they stopped that stupid bounce test. I just feel that the suspension is a little too stiff for a newborn to be riding in the car. It's just a matter of when I decide to go back to stock.
