/!\ Warm the engine before driving /!\
For my Evo I waited 1500 miles before pushing her very very hard. Factory recommendation was 1000 miles I think???
Change also the oil after 500 or 1000 miles to remove all the bad stuff inside.
Do not trust people telling the engine is factory break in!
Also I don't really trust that guy:

But his talking about N/A engine...

Thanks Keep Them Comming
Thanks For The Info I Have Got My Car Up To 5000 To Maybe 6000 Rpms A Few Times Already I Am Just Closing In On The 700 Mile Mark And Just Testing My Patience. It's Hard To Just Drive It Conservitive I Think Just Because It's Such A Big Deal? From What I Hear Is That The Motor After About 1500 To 2000 Miles Will Feel A Little Stronger? Not Sure If This Is True Or Not Either. Anyway Keep The Advise Comming Guys. Thanks Again

1000-1500 miles
First oil change at 500 then 1000, 3000 and so on.
Find an open road where you can do 30-60mph on.
Accelerate to 30 mph normaly then put it in 5th gear apply full throttle till you hit 60mph let off and coast. do this two or three times.
This should bed the rings nicely.
Vary your driving speed (not just highway driving) untill break in.

I
followed factory recommendations, but accelerated to 5K a few times (maybe 5). Vary your engine speed at all times. I think that is the most important factor in breaking in rings. Especially with the close tolerances Subies have. IMHO you should do the break-in with the dino oil, and then change to synthetic.

Still Breaking In
I Have Read My Manual Then I Get All These Other Opinions And Want To Break It In At Different Times I Just Hit 750 Miles And Still Doing It At Variable Speeds. It's Like I Want To Just Go Already But Don't Want To At The Same Time It's Killing Me. I Guess I Should Be Changing My Oil Already Then. Seems Like Thats Whats Being Recomended?
