The Rundown
WAS GREAT! I really enjoyed the couple of hours it took me to escape reality with this flick.
Simple plot, a couple of twists, GREAT acting (even from The Rock!) and lots of comedy to make it a rollicking romp through the jungle (shot in Hawaii).
The Rock is shaping up to be "the next big action hero" very nicely. He's got the dimensions, the charisma, and some experience under his belt now. Sean William Scott (Stifler) is a great add to any movie nowadays. He plays essentially the same character, but he's not such a doofus that he just dumbs down the whole movie like other sidekicks (Rob Schneider, etc.) and the ladies like to look at him so I think he added to the flick. Rosario Dawson is hot in a tropical kind of way that was just enough eye candy to finish up the recipe nicely.
Lots of action, judicious use of wire stunts, and a story with a definite beginning/middle/ending make this one fun click!
I DUG IT!
Can't wait to see "School of Rock" now...

Oh, how could I have forgot to mention Christopher Walken? He is absolutely HYSTERICAL in a psychotic tenuous grap on reality kind of way. His character (and performance) were an INTEGRAL part of the trip. Bravo!

I'm not sure how good The Rock will be....but he is improving For some reason I have a hard time taking him seriously when he's "trying" to be serious...maybe its just cuz he was a wrestler.....
He and stifler were a good mix and the opening scene was cool.
By the way, would you like some lightning.....or some thunder???

Hahahah...
I think I may be giving The Rock a fairer shake than most because I haven't watched any "professional" wrestling since Andre The Giant was alive...
